| Clinical Trials St. Mary's of Michigan is affiliated with the Michigan Cancer Research Consortium Community Clinical Oncology Program - one of only 50 community-based research programs supported by the National Cancer Institute. As a St. Mary's of Michigan patient, you are invited to participate in investigational cancer studies designed to determine ways to best prevent, detect, diagnose, and treat cancer. Called "clinical trials," these studies are important because they help doctors learn how to help cancer patients live longer and more comfortably. As a participant, you or your loved one will have access to promising new treatments that may not be available anywhere else. You will also receive close attention from doctors and researchers - perhaps even more than a patient undergoing standard treatment. Research studies change frequently.
