St. Mary's earns Community Value Leadership Award from Cleverley + Associates

Cleverley + Associates recently announced that St. Mary's of Michigan is one of its 2012 Community Value Leadership Award winners and recognizes St. Mary's as a top provider of health services.

Each year, Cleverley + Associates publish a ranking of the best hospitals in the nation in terms of the value they provide their community. Cleverley uses its Community Value Index as an objective measure to determine how a hospital interacts and performs within its community.

The Community Value Index (CVI) measures a hospital's value based on four primary areas:
· Financial viability and plant (facility) reinvestment
· Hospital cost structure
· Hospital charge structure
· Hospital quality performance

According to Cleverley + Associates, a hospital provides value to the community when it is financially viable, is appropriately reinvesting back into the facility, maintains a low-cost structure, has reasonable charges, and provides high-quality care to patients.
