Prevention
While all of us at St. Mary's of Michigan are proud of our accomplishments and expertise in cancer care, we'd like to help you prevent cancer more than anything!
In 2012, Seton Cancer Institute performed 398 free prostate cancer screenings at our three facilities (Saginaw, West Branch and Marlette). Of those screened, 36 men had abnormal findings. Men with abnormal results were evaluated by a Seton Cancer Institute physician and follow-up appointments were made as needed.
Catch cancer early by following these three steps:
1. Click on our Calendar of Events or call 1-877-738-6672 for upcoming skin and prostate cancer screenings near you.
2. Know your family health history and share it with your doctor. He or she can guide you on lifestyle issues, important tests and screenings. You may need to be tested and screened more than the average person.
3. We also recommend you follow screening guidelines set forth by the American Cancer Society. |
