Preventing Heart Problems
While all of us at St. Mary's of Michigan are proud of our accomplishments and expertise in heart care, we'd like to help you prevent heart disease more than anything! Here are some simple steps:
- Don't smoke. If you do, quit.
- Control your blood pressure.
- Maintain healthy cholesterol levels.
- Exercise and eat right. Try to maintain a healthy weight for you.
- If you have diabetes, work diligently to keep your blood sugar levels under control.
- See your doctor regularly.
- Know the warning signs of a heart attack

Footstep for Fitness

If wellness is your priority, St. Mary's of Michigan has a program designed just for you. Take steps in the right direction by joining the St. Mary's of Michigan Footsteps for Fitness program.
You can walk when it is convenient for you:
Fashion Square Mall - located at 4787 Fashion Square Blvd., is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. A St. Mary's of Michigan Footsteps for Fitness kiosk is located near the main entrance.
Saginaw Township Recreation Center Courts - located at 3320 N.Center Road is open Monday through Friday 6 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sunday 12 noon to 5 p.m.
Register online (link) or at Center Courts or Fashion Square Mall office. As an added benefit, you'll be invited to:
- Monthly "Ask the Expert" presentations
- St. Mary's of Michigan sponsored screenings and activities
- Invitation-only group walks at area parks and rail trails.
