Cancer RehabilitationYour follow-up care can also include other services such as rehabilitation. Patients whose breathing has been affected by surgery may have to re-learn tasks they once took for granted. Our therapists will be there to help you maximize your quality of life.The first of its kind in the area, the St. Mary’s of Michigan cancer rehabilitation program focuses on restoring physical function and independence that may change through cancer treatment.The program is especially beneficial to cancer patients suffering from:
- Pain
- Joint restriction
- Scar tissue, incision or radiation site tightness
- Neuropathy
- Deconditioning
- Swelling of arms or legs
- Side effects of surgery, chemotherapy and/or radiation OR
- Side effects from your tumor and/or cancer treatment
- Loss of strength, range of motion, endurance and mobility
- Fatigue
The program includes:
- Individualized consultation to determine needs
- Extensive education to help return to normal activities after cancer
