Emergency and FlightCare
Critical components of our trauma care

Two very essential components of the trauma program at St. Mary's of Michigan are:
Emergency department -- for many trauma patients the initial point of entry is the emergency room, where they are met with expert, compassion care delivered by Timberline Physicians, the doctors dedicated to the practice of emergency medicine at St. Mary's of Michigan since 1982. More than a dozen board certified physicians and several physician assistants service more than 60,000 annual ER visits.
FlightCare -- the helicopter transport program at St. Mary's of Michigan sets our trauma program apart. For over 25 years, we have been transporting critically ill and injured adults and pediatric patients throughout the state. The team includes one nurse, one paramedic, and one pilot on each flight.
FlightCare is the region's first accredited air program, having met the industry's gold standard for patient care, safety, quality, aviation, maintenance, risk reduction, education, and community involvement.
