St. Mary's of Michigan Standish Hospital offers skilled and long-term care, 24 hours a day under the supervision of the medical director or your attending physician.  Our 43 bed facility is small, but that lends itself to a family environment of residents and staff.  We care for residents who can no longer be cared for at home and who will benefit from the continued care and rehabilitation that we offer.  Our mission is to promote the independence of our residents and the quality of their lives to the fullest extent.

Nursing
We have access to 24 hour Emergency Room services to assist with the care of our residents.  We have many unique nursing services such as 24 hour skilled nursing, hospice services, wound care management, diabetic programs, IV and oxygen therapy, cardiac rehabilitation, cardiac pulmonary rehabilitation and tracheostomy care.

Social Services
We have a licensed Master Level Social Worker on staff to assist with any resident or family issues that may occur.  She is qualified to answer any questions regarding Medicaid and Medicare programs, and is available to provide counseling and referrals to other agencies if needed.

Dining Program
St. Mary's of Michigan Standish Hospital features a Dining Program which enhances our residents' quality of life during their stay.  Each meal has a selective menu to ensure our residents have choices at each one.  Our restorative dining program assists residents in maintaining their independence.  We have a Certified Dietary Manager on staff as well as a Registered Dietian to implement menus and new delicious recipes.  Bi-monthly family dining is provided, with the menu selected by residents.

Physical (PT), Occupational (OT), and Speech (ST) Therapy
Our facility has an extensive therapy department with full time occupational, physical, and speech therapists.  Our therapists are skilled professionals, who work with individuals in need of specialized assistance to lead independent, productive and satisfying lives.  OT focuses on daily living skills, balance and upper body strengthening.  PT focuses on lower body strengthening, transfer abilitites, gait training and assistive devices usage.  ST focuses on managing swallowing deficits, developing memory and problem solving, and improving speech and language skills.

Restorative Therapy
We have a "Restorative Nursing Program" for individuals who no longer need Physical or Occupational Therapies but still need some assistance and re-training with daily activities.

Accomodations
We provide dedicated care for short term rehabilitation, long term placement care in private, semi-private, and three-four bed rooms.  Rates include daily laundry and housekeeping services, all meals, nursing care, social services and all activities.

Payment Options
We are Medicaid and Medicare certified.  We also contract with many private insurances and hospice organizations.

Our admissions coordinators are available to assist with the admission process - working closely with local hospitals and other agencies to ensure a smooth transition into our facility and making our new residents feel welcome and at home.  For admissions, please call (989) 846-3441 or (989) 846-3429.
